CHICAGO (AP) - Brenda Barnes, chief executive officer of Sara Lee Corp. since February, was given the additional title of chairwoman Thursday in a vote by the consumer products manufacturer's board of directors, succeeding Steve McMillan.
The company made the announcement at its annual meeting of shareholders in Houston.
McMillan, who also was CEO from 2000 until Barnes' promotion eight months ago, had been chairman since 2001.
