NEW YORK (AP) - Oil prices ended an extremely choppy session with modest gains Thursday.
Data showing a larger-than-expected weekly build in natural gas storage sparked a selloff in energy futures earlier in the session.
But prices held key support levels, prompting traders to cover short positions, or bets on falling prices, late in the session, traders and analysts said.
