BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) - Inflation in the 12 countries using the euro rose by 2.5 percent in October, according to early estimates from the European Union's statistical agency Eurostat.
Surging gasoline and heating oil prices pushed inflation up by 2.6 percent in September from 2.2 percent the previous month.
Eurostat will explain what prices increased in October when it publishes its final figure for the month.
