MADRID, Spain (AP) - Spanish-Argentine oil and energy company Repsol YPF said Friday it posted a 22 percent rise in third-quarter net profit, with strong refining operations offsetting a bigger-than-expected decrease in overall oil and gas production.
The company earned 934 million euros ($1.1 billion) for the period, up from net income of 767 million euros in the third quarter in 2004.
Revenue rose to 12.7 billion euros ($15.2 billion) from 10.53 billion euros.
