 MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Wisconsin's tribute to Barry Alvarez missed one very important piece — a win in his final home game as the Badgers' head coach.
Alvarez, who will step down at the end of the season as head coach but remain on as athletic director, was honored Saturday following No. 19 Wisconsin's 20-10 loss to Iowa with a ceremony that included a video montage showing the highlights of his 16 seasons at the school.
Alvarez admitted it was tough to watch a tribute to his time at Wisconsin after losing a game that ended the Badgers' slim hopes at a fourth Big Ten title in his tenure.
