TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - LSU coach Les Miles never lost faith, even with a 10-0 halftime deficit to Alabama and an offense that had produced scant yards. After all, what's a few points to a team that has endured Hurricane Katrina's aftermath and an awful collapse against Tennessee?
"There was never any question that this football team would respond," Miles said after the fourth-ranked Tigers' 16-13 overtime win over the previously unbeaten Crimson Tide on Saturday.
With the win, LSU (8-1, 5-1 Southeastern Conference) emerged as the SEC West front-runner and is the league's last team standing in the hunt for a national championship. The Tigers, who have won seven consecutive games, jumped the Tide into fourth in the AP Top 25.
