CHICAGO (AP) - Mark Bell scored two goals and Nikolai Khabibulin made 26 saves to lead the Chicago Blackhawks to a 3-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday night.
Duncan Keith had a goal and an assist for Chicago, which converted its first two shots against Edmonton goalie Jussi Markkanen and was outshot 27-19.
Khabibulin, who signed a four-year, $27 million contract as a free agent last summer, made several tough saves including two on the Oilers' Shawn Horcoff. After helping lead the Tampa Bay Lightning to the 2004 Stanley Cup title, Khabibulin got off to a slow start this season with a 5-10 record, 3.71 goals-against average and .861 save percentage.
