Four Montana State-Northern Players Hurt

Monday, November 14, 2005 5:56:07 PM

SUPERIOR, Mont. (AP) - A van returning the Montana State University-Northern women's basketball team from Oregon to Havre crashed early Monday, injuring at least four players. None suffered life-threatening injuries, school officials said.

The 10 occupants of the van were taken to the Superior hospital and four were then transferred to a Missoula hospital, said Alex Capdeville, MSU-Northern chancellor. One of the four was later moved to a hospital in Seattle, Capdeville said.

Head coach Chris Mouat was driving the school-owned, 15-passenger van that flipped onto its side. Much of western Montana was under a winter storm warning Monday with rain, snow and strong wind hitting the area. The team was returning from a loss in an exhibition game Sunday against Portland State.
