 IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - Jeff Horner and Greg Brunner each scored 16 points to lead No. 20 Iowa to an 86-41 victory over Maryland-Eastern Shore in the first round of the Guardians Classic on Monday night.
Iowa advanced to play Tuesday against Colgate, which beat Utah Valley State 55-42.
Adam Haluska added 12 points for the Hawkeyes, who never trailed and shot 51 percent from the floor in coasting to their 28th straight season-opening victory. They have won 42 home openers in a row.
