ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (AP) - Fresh from a tour of Pakistan's devastated earthquake zone, actress and U.N. goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie was most moved by the people she saw: A man digging in rubble. A boy scared by aftershocks but joyous over his sister's survival. A thinly dressed pregnant woman worried about the coming winter.
A day after visiting the ravaged Kashmir region, Jolie pleaded Friday for swift aid to avoid a new humanitarian disaster in Pakistan with the onset of the brutal Himalayan cold.
Accompanied by actor Brad Pitt, Jolie visited a mostly destroyed town and a camp for survivors of the Oct. 8 quake, which killed an estimated 86,000 Pakistanis and destroyed the homes of more than 3 million.
