 LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Magna Graduate edged Suave to win the Grade II, $500,000-added Clark Handicap on Friday at Churchill Downs.
Magna Graduate, ridden by John R. Velazquez, led or was close to the lead for the entire 1 1-8 miles. Suave caught Magna Graduate near the eighth pole, and the two were neck and neck until the finish.
Perfect Drift, favorite in the field of 12 3-year-olds and up, finished third in the race for the second year in a row.
