McLEAN, Va. (AP) - Some wore the red, white and black colors of the Iraqi flag as they cast ballots in seven U.S. cities for Iraq's elections. Others came in knit caps bearing Kurdistan's red, white and green.
With more than 200 political parties on the ballot, the expatriates reflected that diversity comments as they left the polls showed their votes had gone to religious, secular and ethnic parties across the spectrum.
Hasseb Obaidy and Walid Kassir of Virginia Beach drove three hours to the Washington, D.C., area and a hotel in McLean to vote Thursday, the third and final day of absentee voting in the U.S.
