INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indiana Pacers are about to find out how far they've come in their quest to become an elite team without Ron Artest.
The Pacers play at Cleveland on Friday, at Dallas on Dec. 26 and at defending champion San Antonio on Dec. 27. San Antonio and Dallas have the two best records in the Western Conference and Cleveland is right behind the Pacers in the Eastern Conference's Central Division.
Indiana has won three in a row without Artest, a former defensive player of the year who the Pacers put on the inactive list after he publicly requested a trade. The Pacers are excited about wins against Utah, New York and the Los Angeles Clippers, but they know this road trip is their most difficult challenge so far.
