RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Tony Bethel emerged from a shooting slump by going 8-for-9 from the field and scoring 20 points, and No. 13 North Carolina State attacked UNC-Greensboro with a 3-point flurry in the first half en route to an 83-52 win Tuesday night.
The victory stretched N.C. State's winning streak to seven games, matching a similar run under coach Herb Sendek in the 1999-2000 season, and was its 10th straight at home. The Wolfpack (12-1) matched the start in the 1988-89 season under the late Jim Valvano.
The Spartans (7-7) were playing their second straight game against an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent. They took a 102-69 beating from top-ranked Duke last weekend and the latest loss extended their losing streak to four games after posting a four-game winning streak.
