EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) - One of the biggest smiles around the New York Giants' locker room during the last 10 days has been that of linebacker Kevin Lewis. And it is not hard to discern why.
Less than two weeks ago, Lewis was at home trying to stay in shape while wondering if the phone would ring and restore his NFL career that had been interrupted in September when he was cut by the Giants.
A week later, he was starting at middle linebacker in New York's division-clinching win at Oakland. This Sunday, he will likely play a significant role again in the Giants' first-round playoff game against Carolina.
