 NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Liz Sherwood scored 16 of her 22 points in the first half and No. 23 Vanderbilt defeated Mississippi State 87-48 Thursday night.
Sherwood, the NCAA Division I leader in field goal percentage entering the game at 69.3 percent, hit her first six shots on Thursday and finished 9-for-12 from the field with nine rebounds.
Vanderbilt (12-4, 1-1 Southeastern Conference) scored the first 14 points of the game and led 46-13 in the final minute of the first half.
