CINCINNATI (AP) - The Cincinnati Reds agreed to one-year contracts with outfielder Wily Mo Pena and catcher Javier Valentin on Sunday, avoiding arbitration with both players.
Pena got a $1.25 million deal, while Valentin's contract is for $1.15 million.
Pena batted .254 with 19 home runs and 51 RBIs in 99 games for the Reds last season. Valentin hit a career-high .281 with 14 homers and 50 RBIs, his second season in Cincinnati.
