TURIN, Italy (AP) - More than 300,000 tickets were still on sale Tuesday for the Feb. 10-26 Winter Olympics in Turin, although only higher priced spots remain for events including figure skating, men's Alpine skiing and men's hockey.
The Turin organizing committee (TOROC) said new ticket offices would open Wednesday, including sites at the Olympic villages in Turin, Sestriere and Bardonecchia selling tickets to officials and athletes.
The 690,000 tickets that were sold were worth euro58.8 million (US$71 million) and amounted to 91 percent of the committee's target sales.
