FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - A passenger who jumped from a moving plane as it prepared to take off died Monday, days after suffering a heart attack in jail, his sister said.
Troy Anthony Rigby, 29, had a heart attack Jan. 26 in a Broward County jail. He was removed from life support at a hospital Monday and died about an hour later, his sister Merlene Rigby told The Miami Herald.
Passengers and crew members on a taxiing plane tried to restrain Rigby on Jan. 23 at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport after he ran to the front of the jetliner and banged on windows and the cockpit door, authorities said. One passenger was bitten.
