LAS VEGAS (AP) - Craig Whelihan threw two touchdown passes to Marcus Nash in the final 4:28 to help the Las Vegas Gladiators beat the San Jose SaberCats 51-48 on Monday night in the Arena Football League.
Whelihan was 13-for-24 for 162 yards and four touchdowns all to Nash and also ran for two scores for Las Vegas, coming off a season-opening loss in Austin. Nash led the Gladiators in receiving with 10 catches for 113 yards.
Whelihan threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Nash with 4:28 left to give Las Vegas a 44-41 lead and the two connected again on a 12-yard scoring play with 59 seconds to go. San Jose's Mark Grieb threw a 7-yard pass to Kevin McKenzie with 17 seconds left.
