University of Vermont Finds Missing Mascot

Tuesday, February 07, 2006 12:45:15 PM

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The University of Vermont has found its missing cat, but the cat burglar remains a mystery.

A 200-pound aluminum sign showing the school's mascot, a mountain lion-like catamount, was found Monday alongside a road in South Burlington.

The university had offered a reward of free tickets to a hockey game after the sign disappeared from a repair shop where it was getting renovated. The sign, valued at $10,000, was discovered missing on Thursday.
