GOTEBORG, Sweden (AP) - Germany's Tim Lobinger made the season's best pole vault Wednesday at the EuroJump indoor meet, and Sweden's Kajsa Bergqvist followed last week's high jump world record with another victory.
Lobinger cleared 19 feet 1 1/4 inches on his second attempt, improving his world-leading mark by two-fifths of an inch. He then made three attempts at 19-4 3/4 but fell short. Sweden's Alhaji Jeng set a national record with 18-10 3/4 to finish second.
Bergqvist, the reigning world champion, struggled to match the form she displayed at Saturday's meet in Germany, where she cleared a record 6-9 3/4 to edge Heike Henkel's mark of 6-9 1/2 set in 1992.
