WASHINGTON (AP) - Gilbert Arenas scored 45 points and Caron Butler added a season-high 34 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Washington Wizards to a 129-124 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night.
Arenas, who had his sixth 40-point game of the season, eclipsed the 30-point barrier for the 22nd time in a game that featured 11 lead changes and 13 ties. Both teams' largest lead was 13 points.
For most of the game, it appeared the first team to get a stop would win. Washington enforcer Michael Ruffin not only provided the stops but scored eight points, including a shot that gave the Wizards a 105-94 lead with 7:06 left.
