No Senate Run for Activist Cindy Sheehan

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Peace activist Cindy Sheehan said Thursday she will not run against U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein in the Democratic primary.

Sheehan, who camped outside President Bush's ranch in Texas to protest the Iraq war, said she won't challenge the state's senior senator even though she thinks Feinstein hasn't done enough to oppose the war. Sheehan's 24-year-old son was killed in Iraq in 2004.

"I think I'm more effective on the outside than on the inside," Sheehan said.
