NEW YORK (AP) - Target Corp. reduced its sales forecast for February, citing the impact of the record-breaking snowstorm that hit the Northeast on Sunday.
The Minneapolis-based discounter said in a pre-recorded message late Monday that sales at stores opened at least a year, known as same-store sales, are now expected to rise between 2.5 percent and 3.5 percent this month, compared to the same month a year earlier. That's down from Target's earlier forecast of growth in the range of 2.5 percent to 4.5 percent.
Target, along with other major retailers, are slated to report final February sales figures on March 2.
