NEW YORK (AP) - The dollar ended slightly lower against the euro and the yen Thursday amid a second day of testimony to Congress from new Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke.
Earlier in the session, the dollar extended the rally which had started Wednesday after the first leg of Bernanke's testimony, pushing the euro to a fresh six-week low of $1.1848. The move was driven by continued optimism in the wake of Bernanke's comments that the Fed will continue to raise interest rates.
Later in the session, the dollar reversed course as some traders booked profits.
