NEW YORK (AP) - Precious metals rose Tuesday, lifted by speculative buying on the back of a rise in energy prices.
April gold settled up $2 at $556.60 an ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange, where spot gold rose $2.10 to $553.90 an ounce.
Speculative buying occurred, said Dave Meger, senior metals analyst with Alaron Trading Corp.
