NEW YORK (AP) - Gold futures finished flat Wednesday after the January consumer price index was seen as "mixed" for the metal.
April gold settled unchanged at $556.60 an ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Spot gold was unchanged at $553.90.
"It's having trouble getting out of its own way," said Tim Evans, an analyst with IFR Pegasus. "Fundamentally, the CPI data from this morning was really quite mixed."
