ATLANTA (AP) - Dan Radakovich was hired as Georgia Tech's athletic director Wednesday after spending the last four years as the top aide to LSU's athletic director.
He signed a five-year contract with an annual base salary of $425,000. A compensation clause in the deal allows for bonuses depending on how long he stays and how well the sports programs perform. Radakovich will begin his new job April 1, replacing Dave Braine who resigned Jan. 11 after nine years.
"He brings a unique combination of enthusiasm for sports, concern for the student, experience in athletic administration, business experience and communication skills that are needed in today's complex world of intercollegiate athletics," Georgia Tech president Wayne Clough said.
