MOUNT VERNON, Ind. (AP) - Jurors began hearing testimony Wednesday in the trial of an Indiana man arrested last fall on sex abuse charges after he was profiled on "The Oprah Winfrey Show."
William C. Davis, 33, faces five counts of child molesting and one count of failure to register as a sex offender. He was arrested Oct. 6 in North Dakota two days after the talk-show host broadcast his picture and offered $100,000 for information leading to his capture.
Three boys testified Wednesday in Posey County court in southwest Indiana about abuse they said happened in 2004, when they were 13, 12 and 5. Davis denies the allegations. If convicted, he would face prison sentences of 20 years to 50 years for each of the molesting charges.
