ATLANTA (AP) - Fox Cable Networks has agreed to buy the regional cable network Turner South, which carries some Atlanta Braves baseball games and other sports and entertainment programming, from Time Warner Inc.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed in Thursday's announcement . Time Warner's Turner Broadcasting business had put Turner South, up for sale late last year.
Fox Cable Networks, a unit of Rupert Murdoch's News Corp., has said little about plans to change Turner South. Turner South, named after Turner Broadcasting founder Ted Turner, is available in parts of six southern states and has 8 million subscribers on various cable systems.
