CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Colgate-Palmolive Co. Chairman and Chief Executive Reuben Mark said the consumer products company plans for President and Chief Operating Officer Ian Cook to assume the CEO title in 2007.
Acknowledging questions regarding the company's succession plans, Mark said during an analyst conference Friday that Colgate's board also "expressed a desire to have me stay as chairman for a brief period yet to be determined."
Mark has been CEO of the New York-based maker of Colgate toothpaste, Palmolive dishwashing liquid and Hill's Science Diet pet food since 1984 and has been with Colgate for 43 years.
