ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - The Iditarod thrives on the mystique of mushers and dogs braving the vicious cold of faraway wilderness.
But the brutal conditions have hurt efforts to market the world's longest sled-dog race. Only rarely can anyone see firsthand what's happening on the trail.
Organizers have revamped their Web site this year, hoping to attract more fans with exclusive daily trail footage. And they hope sponsors will follow.
