 SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) - Nine-time Tour de France finisher George Hincapie won the fifth stage of the Tour of California on Friday while Floyd Landis hung on to the race lead.
Hincapie, of Greenville, S.C., again used his teammates' strong support to sprint to victory in the 105.3-mile stage in 3 hours, 52 minutes, 2 seconds. He joined Juan Jose Haedo of Argentina as a double stage winner.
Landis (Phonak) of Murrieta finished 18th in the main field and maintained his 29-second race margin over David Zabriskie (CSC) of Salt Lake City.
