BOSTON (AP) - Monica Pope scored 13 of her career-high 19 points in the second half and Gillian Goring had 12 points and nine rebounds to help North Carolina State upset No. 17 Boston College 82-71 on Friday night.
N.C. State (17-10, 7-7 Atlantic Coast Conference) closed out its regular season with four wins in five games to move a half-game ahead of Boston College for fifth place in the conference.
The Eagles, losers of three straight, can clinch the fifth seed in the ACC Tournament by virtue of a tiebreaker with a win at Florida State on Sunday. Boston College beat the Wolfpack 75-66 on Jan. 30.
