INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indiana Pacers never found a way to stop Atlanta's Joe Johnson and he made them pay for it. Johnson matched his career high with 40 points, including a 3-pointer at the buzzer that sent the game into overtime. He then scored Atlanta's first seven points in overtime to lead the Hawks over the Pacers 117-112 Friday night.
Johnson also had 13 assists for Atlanta, which beat Indiana for the third time in three games this season. The game featured 18 ties and 24 lead changes, with neither team leading by more than eight points.
"We got some life at the end of regulation and I didn't want to go into overtime playing from behind," Johnson said. "I went out and tried to take control."
