CHICAGO (AP) - A Roman Catholic priest pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges he sexually abused three boys, in a case Chicago's cardinal has acknowledged mishandling.
The Rev. Daniel McCormack is charged with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse between September 2001 and January 2005. Each count carries a maximum sentence of seven years in prison, a Cook County State's Attorney spokeswoman said.
McCormack was charged in January with abusing two of the boys and charged last month with abusing the third. He was indicted by a grand jury later in the month.
