JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (AP) - A family friend who accused former Deputy President Jacob Zuma of rape testified Wednesday she was too frightened to resist the alleged attack.
Zuma, who was widely expected to become the next president of South Africa, has acknowledged having sex with the woman, a 31-year-old HIV-positive AIDS activist, but insists it was consensual.
The charges in the country's most politically explosive case since apartheid's end could destroy Zuma's political career.
