Ray Experiencing Eye Soreness After Poke

Saturday, March 11, 2006 7:24:29 PM

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Villanova guard Allan Ray complained of soreness and a headache and remained listed as day-to-day Saturday, a day after he was hit in his right eye in the Big East tournament.

Villanova spokesman Mike Sheridan said Ray was otherwise "doing pretty well" and was scheduled to see an eye specialist for an examination. Sheridan also said it was too early to decide if Ray would be available for the No. 2 Wildcats' first NCAA tournament game next week.

Ray, a first-team all-Big East selection and Villanova's second-leading scorer and rebounder, was hit in the right eye early in the second half of Friday night's loss to Pittsburgh. He was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital.
