ABIDJAN, Ivory Coast (AP) - The leader of Ivory Coast rebels returned to his Cabinet post for the first time in more than a year Tuesday, after a rare meeting with President Laurent Gbagbo.
Guillaume Soro flew from the rebel-held stronghold of Bouake to the southern, government-held commercial capital Abidjan and held two hours of talks with Gbagbo that he described afterward as "fruitful."
It was a rare sign of hope in a peace process that has failed again and again to reunite the country, split between rebel and loyalists halves since 2002.
