PAGO, PAGO, American Samoa (AP) - The United States, Japan and Australia said Saturday they share "grave concerns" about Iran's nuclear program, and that the U.N. Security Council must act to deter Tehran from activities that could produce an atomic bomb.
In a joint statement after the first security talks among the three nations, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and her counterparts also said North Korea should return immediately and without conditions to international nuclear talks.
On Iran, the diplomat said in a statement, "We have grave concerns about Iran's nuclear program and discussed the need for concerted action at the U.N. Security Council to convince Iran to promptly suspend all enrichment related activities, fully cooperate with the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency), return to negotiations and take all steps called for by the IAEA board."
