NEW YORK (AP) - The dollar rose against most major currencies Monday as the markets waited for signals from the Federal Reserve chairman on the future movement of interest rates.
The euro bought $1.2164 in afternoon New York trading, down from $1.2195 in New York late Friday. The British pound slipped to $1.7561 from $1.7568.
The dollar edged up against the Japanese currency, rising to 116.21 yen from 115.79 yen.
