LONDON (AP) - Consumer prices rose 2.0 percent in the United Kingdom in February compared with a year earlier, up from 1.9 percent growth in January, the government said Tuesday.
The Consumer Prices Index remained below the Bank of England's target of 2 percent, after hitting its recent peak at 2.5 percent in September.
The Retail Price Index, which excludes mortgage interest payments, rose 2.3 percent in February, matching in the January rate, the Office for National Statistics reported.
