TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - New York Yankees pitcher Chien-Ming Wang allowed five runs and seven hits in 3 2-3 innings of a minor league game on Tuesday.
Wang pitched for Triple-A Columbus against Syracuse because his scheduled start fell on a Yankees off day.
All but one of the hits came in the first two innings when Wang had problems with his mechanics. After working with New York pitching coach Ron Guidry, the right-hander retired six of his last seven hitters.
