 ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - For one season, Brenda Frese and the University of Minnesota seemed to be the perfect match.
Frese led the Gophers to a 22-8 record and into the second round of the 2002 NCAA tournament. Frese promptly followed the fast start in Minneapolis with a quick exit — to Maryland.
"Obviously it was a difficult decision after having a tremendous year," said Frese, whose Terrapins are one win away from going to the Final Four for the first time since 1989.
