TOKYO (AP) - A court sentenced two former executives of Japanese cosmetics maker Kanebo to suspended prison terms for falsifying financial statements, a court official said Monday.
Takashi Hoashi, the former president of Tokyo-based Kanebo Ltd., and its former vice president Takashi Miyahara had been arrested in July 2005 for allegedly falsifying financial statements by up to 82.9 billion yen ($691 million) over two years from fiscal 2002.
The two former executives pleaded guilty to the charges.
