ATLANTA (AP) - Three hours before a threatened midnight strike, an agreement was reached Sunday night between Cingular Wireless and the union representing about 11,000 of its customer service employees in nine southeastern states.
"We have reached a tentative agreement on a labor contract," said Cingular spokesman Mark Seigel. "Subject to ratification by members, we are pleased to reach this agreement."
The Communications Workers of America Local 3204 told its members to return to work as scheduled Monday and said ballots will be mailed to members soon so they can either approve or reject the tentative agreement.
