MEXICO CITY (AP) - Floyd Mayweather Jr. has relinquished his WBC super lightweight crown to compete for the IBF welterweight championship.
Mayweather is aiming for his fourth title in four weight classes when he faces IBF welterweight champion Zab Judah on April 8 in Las Vegas.
The WBC said in a statement it was declaring its super lightweight title vacant, and called on second-place Junior Witter and DeMarcus Corley to schedule a fight to decide the title.
