 SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - The San Francisco Giants all but finalized their roster Monday, though they still have to figure out their bullpen situation.
The Giants optioned right-handed pitchers Brad Hennessey and Merkin Valdez along with outfielder Daniel Ortmeier to Triple-A Fresno, and manager Felipe Alou said backup catcher Todd Greene and righty Jamey Wright — both non-roster invitees to spring training — will make the club.
In addition, Alou hinted Jason Ellison would likely be the fifth outfielder on the roster.
