Delta Burke Breaks Ankle Before Show

Wednesday, March 29, 2006 3:07:26 PM

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Delta Burke took the old break-a-leg adage to heart. The actress broke her left ankle just two days before taking the stage in "Southern Baptist Sissies."

Burke fell from a riser Sunday during a rehearsal for the show that had been scheduled to open Wednesday.

"I wish I could blame it on the choreography, but it's not a musical," said Burke, who plays the mother of sons who are questioning their faith and sexuality. "I just had a clumsy moment."
